Alpha, Ashton, Bang, and SMT all are top-notch companies, producing top-notch products.
The main difference between them and the OEMS (Callaway, Titleist, TaylorMade, Ping, etc) is that Alpha et al don't spend tons of cash to advertise, or to get tour players to play their gear.
They perform every bit as well (and in some cases better) than the OEMs.
Thank's for the response. The last 2 drivers I've used were the big names but just want to try something different. Currently im looking into the Alpha V2 - 400 or the SMT Shinnecock or Nemisis ( although not having the lines on the front look's strange to me ). Now for the hard part in finding the right shaft .
As you can see, I swing the SMT Spectrum. The thing about this clubhead is it's ridiculous forgiveness.
At 44.75" with and Accuflex Evolution shaft and a high 90's swing speed, I consistently leave my ball 260-280 yards from where I started. When I catch the sweetspot, I'm closer to 300 yards (carry and roll).
Nice! I was bumping around online and found that exact set up with the Spectrum / Evolution for under $200. Still debating on that one. Caught my eye though.
