  • Why do i slice my driver?????

Hi, i am 15 with a 18 handicap. This could be alot lower if i could use my driver and woods more efficiently.Whenever i go to use them i slice them way right - i am right handed. This is a common problem i know but i was wondering if any one has any tips or practises i could do to straigthen my drives. My irons dont slice but whenever i use a driver i have to compensate. I have a Wilson Deep Red 2 and people have said to me it is a very hard club to keep straigth but i am not too sure. Please can you help me!

*Start with ball position. It should be forward on the inside of your front foot.
    * Slicing is either an ouside-in path or an open face (or both). Where is the ball after the first 15 yards? If it is straight, then it is your face angle that is turning the to the right. If it is to the left, then you have outside-in path causing the slice right.

So how to fix these problems? Search the site. Start there. There have to be 100's of posts about this. If you still do not find what you want, ask again with specific questions.

a couple things...what degree is your driver?
go to a pga teaching pro and have him check where your hands and club are relative to each other at the cocked position. Generally, if that is off it can cause you to try to bring the club outside in. If you ever notice the pga pros on tv when they hit the ball it looks as it is starting off right...well it is.....they hit the ball in a way that starts the ball out like that and yet it still draws and yes, even fades.
I had a nice draw for the last few years and have gone back to a slight fade lately. Most of my problems are attributed to my swing path. Time for a few more lessons. However, I am swapping out my 983k 8.5 degree for another club that is at 10.5 or 12 degrees. That should be more forgiving and give me more distance with my swing speed anyway.....good luck.
