Re: Spin Rate
Ricky,
We don't know for sure that it is spin rate that is causing your high ball flight and lack of distance. There are so many factors that cause and influence spin rate and ball flight trajectory. SR isn't caused by the swing, whether it be inside or outside, that normally has a very small impact on spin rate.
Launch angle (which is also affected by various factors), ball speed and the expected spin rate of the golf ball you use are the biggest influences on spin rate.
We need to get you tested and analyse your impact stats before we know for sure what the problem is. I have the equipment to do the testing and when the studio in Reading opens, we'll see what the stats say.
Personally, I think it is that your initial ball speed is too low. You don't get enough ballistic loft to carry the ball a long way because it doesn't travel fast enough through the air. In other words, becuase when you hit the golf ball, it isn't travelling fast enough, it slows far quicker and drops back to the ground far quicker ...
Swing path has virtually no effect (it is less than 10%) on spin rate with a driver.
