I am having problems with my driver. I am getting good power and it is traveling straight but it keeps going along the floor. I have tried teeing the ball higher and I have tried every ball position from the center to outside my left foot but still I get the same result. Any suggestions ?????

Topping - Thinning the ball
Hi pickledoe,
Let me run through the areas that you need to check in order to eliminate the top:
1. Grip: There could be too much tension in your hands a set-up wich can lead to a quick jerky swing and produce a topped shot. Try and think of the grip as 'firm but flexible' as if you are holding a tube of toothpaste without squeezing any out!
2. Ball Position: Generally a topped shot will result from an exagerated ball position i.e. either too far forward or too far back in your stance. Go through the ball position lesson here.
3. Posture: A lack of knee flex at the set-up can lead to a over-active upper body that can produce a top. The knees should be lighlty flexed at address. Go through the posture lesson here.
4. Swing: The most common fault that produces a topped shot is the pupils head turning and lifting prior to impact with the ball. Remember watch the clubhead impact with the ball and complete your swing!
Let me know how you get on
