  • Lowest degree of loft

What is the lowest degree of loft you are allowed in comps.

Was reading in a magazine the other day about this uy who was driving it 800 yrds with 4.5 degree of loft, not that you would want to hit it that far.

    Re: Lowest degree of loft

nobody wa hitting that far, unless he was on an airplane

sean the beast fister, the current world long drive champion, can hit it around 400 and he uses 3.5-6.5 loft

i dont think there is a limit, its whatever your skill allows you to do

if we hit a 4.5 lofted driver it would mostly likey be a line drive unless you really know how to swing up on the ball

          Re: Lowest degree of loft

          It's actually true.

we had a long drive tornement in this country ( england ) and it took place on an old airfield runway. Longest drive was 715 yards..Tarmac gave the balls the chance to bounce and bounce.
          regards . Terry

As for the lowest legal loft, it's zero.

The question isn't loft. The question is whether or not a club is listed as conforming or not by your ruling body (the R&A or the USGA).

800 yards? Can you say 'Tin Cup'?

Lol, I dont think a ball could withstand that kind of clubhead speed.

next time I am going mountain cliaming I am going to take my driver and a ball, might just carry it (drop it) more than 800 yards! LOL, happy Gilmore didn't hit it 800 yards.
