Get or make an inside approach device; best cure for swing faults.

I disagree ... Best cure is training with your local pro.

        And your opinion is worth?
I suppose you know just the man for the job.

Well hopefully my opinion is worth just about the same as yours.

The original poster has a problem with a slice. That doesn't HAVE to come from swinging outside-in, hence an "inside approach device" won't necessarily cure anything.

A teaching pro, however, will be able to spot the cause of the error and recommend a remedy. That remedy might be as "simple" as a grip change.

If you have a swing flaw and try to fix it without professional assistance, you very often end up putting a compensating flaw on top of the existing flaw. While your swing might work, you will have more flaws than before, and at one point, that will hinder further improvement to a point where no device can help you.

Your local club will have a teaching pro. Go to him/her and do the work needed.

Well maybe, but as John Lennon (or was it Macca?) said....

‘Is Ringo Starr the best drummer in the world?’, ....
‘He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles.’

A training aid that worked really great for me was the Tour Striker. And the customer service is excellent too. Just a suggestion!

Funny thing is that I think that what a 'pro' does is exactly the same as this... just paper over those problems, hindering further improvement.

If you are going to go to a 'pro' then you should go 'all in' and rebuild your swing, not just give you a new 'flaw' to correct an existing one.

Quite correct, including going to a 'pro'

As far as to the original point, hvnit2gd1975, I have not tried this particular device, and don't, in general like 'devices'. Are you perhaps thinking too much about your swing?

                  Re: Training aids

There are many good golf coaches out there and just like recruiting any tutor you need to check their reputation and qualifications. Generalisation is a blunt instrument.

Ball flight errors are influenced by the swingpath into the ball and angle of the clubface at impact. Generally the ball will make it's initial flight in the direction of the swingpath and will then travel towards the direction the clubface was pointing at impact. Sliced shots can be pushed slices, pulled slices or straight slices, once you have worked out which you can understand how it is caused and what need rectifying.

                    Re: Training aids

                    hi
the thing with any training aid is it can't see your swing and unlike a golf pro it can't detect what part off the swing is at fault. be it your hand, arms, shoulders. body, hips or legs. a pro golfer can see what part of the swing is at fault and then can tell you what training aids could help you put it right.
often you feel your are doing something right but its only when you look on film you can see your swing parts slowed down and then you can often see what goes wrong. a bit like the pro golfer can see what parts of the swing are good and what parts are bad.
the problem most handicap golfers have is they don't know what is wrong and a training aid won't tell them like a golf pro can or watching there swing on film.
                    cheers
                    Bill
