distance
My son is 13 he hit s the ball with his driver about 200 to 210yrds.He has a very good swing.He wants to know how to hit hit the ball further. can anyone help please?

13 yrs old and hes hitting 200/210 i play with adults who cant reach that he will have to wait till he bigger and stronger -

Hi PGA,
distance comes from a combination of things. The most relevant being grip, clubhead speed,and keeping the hands ahead of the clubhead at impact. I would suggest your son take a lesson on this issue as it is not something that can be adressed by the average golferComment

have his swing looked at and his ball speed and spin checked and see if he has the right driver and shaft. most young boys have hand me downs that dont match there swing and that means they dont hit the sweep spot and that means less distance,
its not about power it about putting the sweep spot of the driver on the ball square every time.
at 13 200yrd is not bad but i would get him checked as it could be loft of driver, wrong shaft type, or hitting down and giving ball to much spin, all new driver have stoped putting groves on sweet spot to reduce the spin, does he have a groved driver.
take him to a shop and have him hit a few and see if his distace improves any, as hes only 13 his swing will change lots over he next few years and he will grow so fast too so clubs wont last long maybe a few years at most.
