  • Advice on "Hammer" driver?

I watched an show on the Hammer Driver and it speaks of possibly adding 50 yards to tee shots!! It was designed with aerodynamics and as they say will increase club speed. Infomercials always say what people want to hear so i am reaching out to GTO inorder to get advice on this club before purchasing. Has anyone out there used this particular club? The website for this product is https://www.hammergolfshop.com/ver1/index.asp. Please let me know what you think. Seems to be a good deal

    you know the old saying!
"if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is"
IMHO the only way to hit your driver further is buy a driver that is custom fitted and learn to swing it correctly!

      POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

They don't mention that you have to scream POW! at the top of your lungs, too. Otherwise it takes 75 yards off your drive.

The other thing you have to consider is whether or not you want to play conforming equipment (or not).

Sadly, the same rules used to govern the pros and their gear also govern the amateur and their gear.

The hammer (and anything else Jack Hamm currently endorses) is non-conforming.

Ah, what the hell. Try it. You might like it. I know a guy who bought the hammer. Had it reshafted. I tried to tell him by reshafting the aerodynamic shaft, he was leaving yards on the table. He said he didn't care - he couldn't hit it for sh*t.

I tried to tell him to come to my shop, I'd take the hammer on a trade in (and then burn it) - he wanted nothing to do with it.

pretty soon golf will be comic book stuff
bridgestone has cornered BOOM as their choice of sound, Mr. Hamm has pow
so if you hit a bridgestone ball with a ham driver, you have POW, BOOM. and with a nike glove on your hand you get the swoosh, so you have swoosh pow boom

I played with a guy that had one of them goofy drivers. They look shilly, and the sound !!! Yikes, sounded like a cheap beer can, really tintee. I had a go with it, hit it about the same distance my regular driver hits, it might a have went a yard or two more, but no where near 50 yds. I only hit it once, so that is hardly a fair test, but I don't think I could ever get use to the sound long enough to give it a fair test.

Your glove should also be aerodynamicaly designed and then you need to shave your forearms to reduce the wind resistance, just like those cyclists who shave their legs.

Buy a nike sasquatch or a callaway or cobra. IMO those are the best 3 drivers and companies that make them on the market right now. This hammer thing is just a club that doesnt abide by usga regulations, and also doesn't really help you that much. The sasquatch is the most forgiving driver I have ever hit (the original version not the sumo or sumo square one) and is so light that you just feel like you're going to pound it no matter what.

I read all the reviews I could find and none of them remotely like it. I use one of those drivers that said "300 yards for sure" but I only get about 270 if I kill it perfectly. Get the best you can afford and practice.

yea i tried out the hammer a few times... it definitely did not add distance. I couldn't hit the club straight. I mean i only hit it like 5 or so times... but i don't see how that thing could add distance to your drive...

No-one ever claims that the hammer goes straighter. It goes farther.

                      LOL

And further to that a company in Scotland have a new secret driver they are giving away free, all you have to do is pay $ 400.00 for shipping and handling. You get your money back ( less shipping and handling of course ) if you don't hit it 350 yards dead straight into the wind on your first try. It comes with a tartan grip and a sheepskin headcover and a DVD featuring Old Tom Morris and a gift certificate for a haggis supper if you send your credit card details NOW.
Sorry, I couldn't resist that, seriously the " Hammer " driver is junk, find a well fitted driver that suits you, any pro. shop will help you with that then practice, practice, practice. Regardless of what you see, hear or read there is absolutely no better way to improve other than practice.

Hahahaha! A buddy of mine bought this club with the free 3w, and was sold by the infomercial, I should of posted this along time ago but....He was all fired up about the (I think it's called smart shaft) something like that. Anyway, he couldn't hit it even close to what his off brand driver is....I fired my cobra speed driver up and blew by him some 40 -50 yds and said that stuff is ****! The bad thing is, he still thinks there's something to it,waiting for that 350-400 yd carry.....Hahahaha it ain't gonna happen I don't care how hard you scream.
