  • What do you guys do...

when you're not playing golf. You know...in the off season. I play guitar. I have a Stratocaster and a Carvin and a kick a$$ amp made by the Canadians...my brothers to the north. It's a Traynor YCV 50 Blue and it rawks! I play old man music. Classic rock and blues. That's about all I do. Golf and guitar. How about you all....if you want to share

Play golf all year round here in GB. In between rounds I play classic guitar but fit in a bit of rag and blues with a hint of Chet of course.

    Edit:

Played a lot of squash but too cranky for that now. Like dancing Jive and Jazz Jive, hill and Springer Spaniel walking. Taking early retirement the end of the month so more golf on the cards as well as more time with my beautiful bride of 38 years and my three great children (inc son/grandson in Chicago)

When I'm not golfing, I'm watching my kids. I find 6 strings are too many, and often elect to play 4 (or 5... love that low B!)

I play squash in the Winter, and coach basketball @ the highschool. And hit balls. Indoors. Constantly.

Re: What do you guys do...

We castaways down under also get to play year round......

In between rounds, I like to indulge in my other life passion, my family and friends.

It should also be said I am a bit of a sporting tragic, if there is an event of some sort going on, I'll be up to watch it, either live or on the telly.

AFL Football, Football (yes, I do know the difference) Cricket, Basketball, Motor Racing, the just completed Paralympics have been fantastic as well.

Used to play the piano (badly) in a previous life and I am also unashamedly capable of a ripping air drum solo should the beverage levels and music warrant.

        Cheers

I get to play all year round too! Allbeit in some very questionable weather in winter.

Otherwise I do love my music. I partake in a little mixing (for my own pleasure), hang out with my friends and brother mostly playing FIFA on the PC or PS2/3, spend time with my girlfriend and generally try to have fun!

I have been known to "tread the boards" too. I started when I was young and actually was in the first 9 months of Oliver! at the London Palladium. More recently I took the lead role in "Me and My Girl" performing infront of an average audience of 1400 for a week. What a buzz that was! And yes, I can sing, dance and act. No thespian jokes please.

Aside from that my butt gets firmly planted on the couch for Premiership and European football and any golfing events that the BBC care to show. Don't have Sky. I hijack everyone elses when there's something on I want to watch but won't pay for!

Learn something new every day eh?!

To keep golfing, I just keep moving farther south to warmer climates. This after traveling north to avoid the triple digit summer tempratures. I am on the Oregon coast right now. Next month I will be in south Texas, and if the winter storms are not to severe, most likely will be in the Cabo area later on this winter. There are 10 couples in out little "snow bird" carvan. We all golf, and although we don't travel every where together all the time, we do meet up some where twice a month for some kind of get together. GJS

                GolfJunkieSr,

                Congratulations on your good life.

When I was in Vancouver, I played with a guy, who had a small 15 foot house trailer. He would pack up and head for the lower States for the winter. He lived and cooked in the trailer, so it did not cost him much. He was single and by appearances, he did not need much to live.
