  • Radio 1's Big Weekend

Right, sorry about this but I've got nowhere else to sound off about this!

Can anybody tell me what they think if they've heard any of the Radio 1's big weekend in Swindon?

Now, I dare say that the atmosphere must have been great and as "performers" I'm sure that the acts delivered.

    But.................

For me, I've heard quite a few of the performances of varying artists from the two days, and 80% of them are tone deaf.

There's no two ways about it. Without their voices being in a studio and passing through filters and pitchers etc etc they cannot sing for toffee.

Most of them wouldn't get through round 1 of any of the so-called talent competitions on telly these days and I find it absolutley incredible that these people are paid big money for what could be bettered in a school choir.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Ronaldo wouldn't play for Man Utd if he was good on a video game but pants in real life, Tiger couldn't be great if he was a range player, so why are todays "music" artists successful vocalists when I've done better in the shower?

It sure ain't the same as it used to be Neil Why don't we have many of the great song writer performers like: Lennon and McCartney, Cat Stevens and Van Morrison. They could write it and sing it live. I blame the likes of Simon Cowell for setting bland 'all much of the sameness' standards.
