After listening to my 5 year old sing the alphabet song, I noticed she pronounced it 'zee'. I asked her why - she said it doesn't rhyme with the song the other way (zed).

I then started thinking about zee/zed, and how as Canadians, we're taught 'zed', and that Americans say 'zee'. I started wondering if we say 'zed' due to the French history in Canada - they pronounce it 'zed'.

How do you pronounce it, and where are you from?

    "Zed" - Canada

"Zed" - Trinidad, but Sesame Street and cable TV is influencing a change to Zee.

I'm with Scragger. The yanks seem to do most things their own way - nothing else matters
