Not late at all - living in within a bus ride of Twickers I've only just finished and got round to posting.

Plus being a decent sort I thought I'd allow our antipodean cousins a moment or two of reflective mourning before butting in.

On a serious Rugby note France were my outside bet from the start - and still are (though obviously I hope not now); Before the tournament started I'd have loved you to get through - I like that traditional Scottish forward mobility - but Argentina have played so well I think they deserve a day in the final spot light.

the Argentina's have played with real heart and its unbelievably they want let them in the tri-nations. i thought the Scot's only played in the last 10 minuets off the game and were as good as the Argentina, i was disappointed but we still have a young side so roll on the 6 nations, i think England will be up against it in Paris, it all depends on what French team turn up.
if you put a bet on France then you cant lose, your be over the moon if England win and have some money to drink your sorrows if France win.
I'm looking forward to a good game i think S/A will be to strong for Argentina but i hope they sneek it and think with home support France will be to strong in the backs for england but you never know.

This time it was Mortlock's......

Watched the game, and can't say as I thought it was a gripping contest.

That said, based on what I saw, I think that the team that deserved to be in front at the end was...

I was rather hoping for a France semi rather than the Kiwi's for England. lets give the English boys some credit, they won, most people thought the Wallabies only needed to turn up.


Don't write us off yet, France are beatable, alas not easily but they did get turned over by Argentina and England are so powerful up front, plus Jonny. Cant wait!!!!

i think it will be close and hope its not down to a mistake like what happened with us Scots.
its a great scalp taking the wallabies in the last 8 of the world cup and no small feat.
i think playing at home in Paris with that huge support behind them might be the difference between the two teams.

Right; off to a local hostelry in a moment for an oj or two as I watch the game - for various painful reasons we are a one box house at the moment and that box will be showing Strictly Come Casualty.

If it all goes pete tong for the red rose then at least we regained some pride getting to the semis; if we inflict the curse of Wilko's boot on our near and dear neighbours again then perhaps I might swap that OJ for something stronger.

Ah so well what can I say other than I didn't stick to OJs and my sister wants to have Jonny's babies. Hic. and Hic again.

I think we deserved it but for a while was thinking "it aint going to happen"

Not sure if its true but I'm told that we are the only RWC holders ever to contest the next final - speaking of which, the Romantic says Argentina the Pragmatic says SA - that way we won't have bloody Kaplan again as ref.
