So, the first time playing this year, and everything I hit off the grass (Fairway or rough, didn't matter) was fat and chunky. Huge divots, no distance. I need a drill to fix this, or help me understand what is causing it. I wasn't doing this last year....

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: !st time out this year.. Chunky chunkaroo
As I understand it, there are a couple quick checks:
1) ball position too far forward
2) check your rotation - if you're stopping rotating and flinging your hands, you could chunk as easily as you could blade.
3) check for sway - if you sway off the ball then rotate, you'll chunk it without some sort of move back towards target.
Hope it helps!
