  • hammer driver...is it the real deal ???

I was watching the Golf Channel and saw this commercial for the Hammer driver...Does anybody know anything about it???Does it work as advertised, adding up to 50 yards to your drives???

One of the nice things about this site is the ability to search for previous discussions on a subject, hint, hint

However since you are a new poster and I'm just about to leave the house on a 5 round mini golfing break - hence in an extremely good mood - I've done it for you.

In a nutshell, a) it's illegal (non-conforming) b) it doesn't work - or rather, nodding towards our friends in the legal profession, "despite some positive reports, many who have tried it have struggled to achieve the suggested gains, this may reflect on their swing rather than the equipment" or perhaps not.

Guy that runs driving range I go to has one and he let me try it. If anything it took away fro m my yardage on drives. I have a taylormade burner I usually hit between 250 and 325 and the most I could get with the hammer is 200 and when it got to 200 the ball seemed to just fall straight down like the bottom fell out. It sounds like hitting an empty beer can and it sure did not add 50 yards to my drives. I just get used clubs from play it again sports for a couple bucks and usually break them or split the face on them. The best driver that's stood up to me are the old big bertha warbirds. I have 2 of them one an 8 and one a 9 and they have smacked some balls. I'm not a golfer just drive balls as far as possible

I've seen lots for sale lately which probably means they are worse than useless! people who got sucked in to the glossy commercials and marketing are trying to offload them and at least get something back for their investment!
