    Re: Damaged Driver

I would send it back to the manufacturer they may replace it. Failing that get the Cobra.

      thanks for that mizunoman

im not sure sending it back would do anything cos i can remember banging it by accident on the corner of a metal rimmed platform about a week ago, just wasnt sure if it would be wise spending money on it when i could just put it on a new one thanks for clearing that up

youre very welcome sparko, what shaft is on your 580, if its any good get it pulled and use it for another club, buy a good head off ebay and build a driver!!!

            Re: Damaged Driver

I would send your R580 back to Taylor Made. They are known for great customer service. What's the worst that can happen? Best scenario is a new driver. Give it a whirl.....

                Re: Damaged Driver

If the shaft that is currently in your driver has been working for you, then yes - I'd pull it. It would probably be cheaper the send just tthe head as well.

                    Re: Damaged Driver

You will have to buy a shaft puller, or try taking it to your local clubmaker.

                      Re: Damaged Driver

The Harmon is a good shaft and if youre happy with it then stay with it, you can get a couple of inches trimmed off it probably so you can use it for one of your other woods if you get a driver with a really good shaft.

                        Re: Damaged Driver

I just got my R580XD back from the retailer for the same reason. I hit it about 12 times and the head cracked. I sent it back and they sent me a new one, if it does it again I will be looking for a new brand.

                          Re: Damaged Driver

That's what you get when you combine HUGE heads with a high COR and high swing speeds. The material is so thin to keep the weight down that they easily crack/break/dent. I know a company that tells you that if you swing over 115 mph to not bother buying the club head because it will break.
