  • Golf Lessons

First off, sorry if this has been asked and answered in previous posts, I searched, but didn't find the answer.

I am really new to golf. I have been to the driving range once and played 2 rounds of 9 holes. I shot a 74 the first time, with my old hand me down clubs. I loved it so much I went and bought a brand new set of Wilson Hyperspeed clubs and Callaway stand bag. I then went again and played 9 holes on the same course and shot a 68. I was very pleased with my improvement.

Now on to my question. I think that lessons would be very beneficial to improving and want to take some lessons. About how much would I expect to pay for lessons. I want to have an idea of cost before I start trying to find an instructor.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dwayne

    Hi Dwayne,

You haven't filled your profile in with all your details, however in the UK you can expect to pay between £15-£30 pounds, depending on the club and quality of the Pro.

Search around and speak to as many pros as you like and find one that you feel comfortable with......look for one who is aware of different methods of learning the swing.

For example....I am a visual player (with a bit of feel thrown in), show me a swing and I can mimic it, show me a video of my swing and I can understand what is required.

Some people are feel players they need to know the feeling required for a particular movement, pictures mean nothing.

Most important is someone you like.

    Good luck

    Ian.

As a Canadian, I spend $55/hr with a CPGA pro. This works out to about $50 USD.
