Hi ,I am new to this forum and i am very impressed with some of the tips and help available.I was just wondering at what height the ball should be placed when using a driver. On television the pro's seem to tee it quite high, but it makes me think i would sky it .Also would the height of the ball affect the slicing of the ball which i do quite often, actually all the time.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Tee Height?
Well, personally I tee the ball at 1/2 over the crown of the grounded club, then proceed to hover my driver so that the middle of the face is flush with the ball.
Then I proceed to stripe drives.
If I tee it up so that the ball is level with the face and the club grounded, I seem to hit down with the driver, which we all know is bad. Trying to move the ball up to hit it on the upswing produces a bad result for me (the aforementioned skying).
So it's the hover for me.

Re: Tee Height?
I know a guy who tees his ball up twice as high as his driver, but he swing his driver in the air. If you watch some of the pros you will see they hover their drivers abvoe the ground. if you are like me and you still sweep the grass, then just over the height of the driver is fine no more than 1/2 the ball.
