I am new to the game and I have been interviewing several types of golf lessons available in the area. What do you guys out there think about a place that offers "mental training" as well as the physical side of golf. Is this really the way to go?? Let me have it straight!

Re: Recommendations on lessons needed
IMHO, the mental side of golf is priority one, if you want to be the best you can be. So many higher handicap golfers fail to realize that if they would concentrate more each time they swing the club, on the shot at hand, and course conditions, they would score much better than they usually do. Now, that being said, each golfer needs to learn what they specifically need to concentrate on dring each time they swing a club. For me it is alignment. For someone else it might be something in the back swing, or their grip as examples. The mental side of golf also includes course management, or in other words, thinking your way around the course. Alot of golfers have good, repeatable swings, and ball flights, but the lack of of a solid mental approach will consistantly cost them strokes.
