    Hi Robbo,

Welcome to the group and hope you enjoy.
Hopefully I might give you some indication about what your mate is on about. Blocking is a term for identifying an action in your swing. It means that you are not / or delaying rotating your wrists through impact of the ball. This results in the club face to arc from inside to outside at impact, which causes your slice.
Now this can be down to a number of reasons why your doing this.
It could be down to where you place your ball in your stance or it could be down to you being tensing up hitting your drives.

You may also not be blocking your drives but your swing could have a great deal to do with your slice. My first recommendation would be let your pro see your drives or if you can post a video of your swing on here for our pros to suggest some practise tips. Once a pro has seen the problem then its just a simple case of doing some practice work to cure it.

    Well hope it helps.

    Cheers
    Mark

      Re: new to the game

i am pretty new here as well. The problem is that i keep topping the ball. My left shoulder goes up even when i am looking at the ball. My spine angle is the same as well. Its just the left shoulder which lifts right before impact due to tension at the left shoulder. Everything else seems normal. How to correct this fault, or is it some other mistake?
