  • Where to practice?

When I watch instructional videos of the short game (chipping, putting and bunker play) the pro always has an empty green to demonstrate with.

Are there any training centres that have a green you can hire out to practice all of the above?

Most of the practice putting greens are too busy to carry out the types of drills suggested in the videos.

It seems to make sense that this is where we amateurs need to practice to have the biggest imact on our game.

    Re: Where to practice?

It really depends on where you live. Most of the time you can find a chipping green available during off peak hours. You can also perform a lot of techniques in your own back yard, you don't always have to have a green to chip on.

setup a bucket in your backyard and use different clubs to chip into it. you'll get an idea how different clubs have different trajectories and more importantly, get a feel for how hard u need to hit each club for the desired length
