Hi! i had a lesson with my pro about putting and he thinks its better to putt with a shorter putter in stead of like 35 inch get it cut down to 33 inch, and i asked why, he sed because you can look down the line of the ball and have more control of your putts? is this true? and what inch is your putter?

Re: Putter Length
It's all a matter of personal preference, depending on your height or stance you can have a long or short it up to you.
As for visual effect no-one can tell you what you see, we are all different, although is is good practice to have your eyes over the line of the putt.
Mine is a two ball blade cut down to 33 inch because I find it easier with a small putter.

Re: Putter Length
Why not give it a try? Putting is such a personal thing that I would never recommend taking any tips at face value. If short putters made the job so much easier then why all the furore about belly putters?
My putter is an Odyssey White Hot #2. I tried it and liked it - couldn't miss from inside of 6 ft - so I bought it. For short puts (2-4 ft) or fast downhill puts I grip down the shaft a little as I can make a more positive swing of the club without worrying about knocking it 10 ft past.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Putter Length
I've got a standard length (35") 2ball clone... Although, for the way I putt, I could probably use a 36 or 37" putter and a different grip (as the butt is in the palm of my left hand currently)
