I know you should have your weight forward on chips. What kind of pitches should your weight be forward too? At how many yards away with a full swing should you swing normally? thanks

Re: Weight Forward To Start?
Keep your weight forward for anything under at 1/2 shot or less, no matter which club you are hitting.

Re: Weight Forward To Start?
Thanks for all the info. I have just taken a couple years off. So, you said weight forward for everything under 1/2 club. You don't mean lob and sand or do you? Like if you had a fluffy lie around the green and had to play it like a bunker shot or a flop over a bunker. Also, shots over a 1/2 club. Lets say you are 80 yards and you can hit a 3/4 lob wedge or a 1/2 pitching wedge. For the 3/4 lob, you would set up normally with weight in the middle and take a 3/4 swing. For the pitching wedge, you would put your weight forward and play the ball in the middle with your feet a little open? I appreciate everything

Re: Weight Forward To Start?
You got it. You want to leave your weight forward for 1/2 shots and less because you are not coiling your body on the backswing so on your downswing you don't have time to transfer your weight.

Re: Weight Forward To Start?
A "weight-forward" theory:
My problem with shanking and my short game consistency has been lunging, bobbing or movement with my head.
When you place your weight forward, say 70%, you make a natural stable column from your forward foot to your head. When you swing, it is then Much easier to keep your head steady!
Anyone else think this way?
