  • one hop and stop

i am a 5 handicap and looking to add new shots to my bag. My question is how do you hit the low wedge shot that hits twice and stops. I feel that this is an important shot that i am missing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Back of the stance by about 3 balls (so not on the back foot, but about in the middle of the back foot and the center). Very steep angle of attack, so your hands get hinged a little more then a normal chip. Keep them as soft as you can stand it on the grip pressure. Then be sure to hit the spot on the ball where it sits on the ground. This is the most important part. It requires a perfect "pinch". You also have to play soft cover balls, not a distance ball. Use a lofted club like the SW or PW and be sure the grooves are clean.

should i try to rock my shoulders while allowing my wrists to hinge, or should this be more of a "armsy" type move?

Shoulders do tilt like a putt yes, but keep the hip turn very still.
