    One thing I use before i play to give me confidence in my putting, is to start off at a real close distance, about 10cm, putt at this distance till i feel confident and just cant miss, then gradually move the ball back further, about 5cms each time, till im about 3 mtrs back at the most. This gives me alot of confidence as I am holeing the putts consitantly, make sure its a straight putt. To put some pressure on yourself like comp conditions, when you feel you want too move back say too yourself, make this and you can move further away, miss, and you have too move closer. This will usually take me about 10 - 15 mins.
    What do other people do before rounds?

    Before my round, I usually switch my shoes, close my trunk, swing a couple times on the first tee, and go.

      Rac,

      I have a lower back injury so to loosen up I was going to the gym before hand. This helped but time management was an issue.

      Now I do some stretches, chip a few balls off various lies, hit a few balls with a short iron and finish with a few short putts. All this takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

      During the round I carry two scorecards, ie, one for scoring and the other for my reference. On my card I record the score, fairways hit, shots within 30 metres and putts.

      At the end of the round I collate my card and analyse the positives and negatives.

        At my age, just getting out of bed is part of my pre-round routine on golf days.

        Once I get to the course, it some putting, some range work, some wedges, and just before my start time I hit the club I will be using on the first tee. What I am hoping for is to have my tempo/timing down prior to that first tee shot. GJS
