Does the OPS work for wedges? Any modifications required? I have recently adopted the OPS for full shots and it is working well for me, but up until now have tried to take Dave Pelz's advice for wedges, e.g. no coil, weaker grip, upright plane, early wrist break etc. Most of these are contrary to the OPS as I understand it. Does the OPS call for two techniques, one for full shots and another for partial? Any advice welcome

Re: One Plane Swing for Wedges?
I have had trouble with this as well. I have been working on the OPS and with all the clubs down to PW, GW, SW, LW it works great. But when I put one of those clubs in my hands I am forced to use a different swing, a variation on Moe Norman's straight back and through. The problem is I lose distance and I don't like the idea of 2 seperate swings. It seems that using the OPS for these shorter clubs, puts me too close to the ball and I will shank it at times. I have to extend my arms more and lean over to maintain control of those clubs. I am not sure why it happens. At this stage I am merely adapting to the problem, not really addressing it.
Not much help except for company misery loves.

Re: One Plane Swing for Wedges?
Thanlks Dlbrown for your post. Only just come back from holiday and picked it up. I don't know what the answer is. I think the OPS is too flat to give good control on wedge shots, particularly partial ones. Like you I don't like the idea of two swings. Perhaps we shall just have to be miserable until hopefully some expert explains all.
