hi greg
why cant i make a new entry in my journal?
Ian,
The new blog/journal system is now up and running... The previous journal entries, which were basically posts in a forum have been closed for new posts as we now have the new blog system up and running. I have ported previous journal entries from the system before last. But unfortunately the forum journal entres cannot easily be moved to the new blog system... I am leaving the previous journal forum up for viewing only, so don't worry no records will be lost... and in time hopefully we can move these old journal posts over to the new system.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused... The new Blog system is packed with some great features, I hope you enjoy it...
Greg - in all the fuss and palava of trying to get used to change and get everything to work, I forgot to say -
Thanks! Good idea! I can see how the new system (when I get used to it!) will make more sense and be more manageable.
I've copied across my entries from the 'Journal' section - it's a shame I can't move across other peoples' comment as well, but hey ho, that will just haveto be one of the casualties of the fine new system.
The 'More' button still isn't working? I think you've adjusted something to show more of the original post, but some of my entries are so long they still need the 'more' expansion link
Thanks for your efforts and keep up the good work!

i deleted the slater170 journal as it was out of date and only
had 10 entries and the slat's journal is read only format so i went to set up a new blog and got this message:-
"Your blog has been deleted. If you wish to create another, please contact an administrator."

You could copy and paste the other comments out of your thread into your journal, or perhaps make 'comments' on the entries, and just title them with the OP's name.
What exactly are the advantages of the new blog system, compared to the Journal section that existed before? I used to read everybody's journal entries as they came up in "Latest Posts," but blog entries don't appear there, so I have to make a special search to find new blog entries. This isn't a huge inconvenience but I'm just wondering what the compensating advantages are.

Search My Blog
Displays a search form for users to search the entries of your blog.

Share your latest entries and comments with other websites.
Monthly Archives
Allows users to browse through your archive easily. It lists lists all the months you have posted entries in, and shows the total entries for that month, and also a link to it.
Favorite Songs
Enter your favorite songs.
Calendar
Shows the current month on the calendar, and allows users to browse entries by date.
Buddy Entries
Shows last X posts made by users on your Buddy List.

You also have the ability to create your own categories within your blog i.e. golf course, practise etc...
You can also subscribe to other members blogs, and when you have done so any updated content can be viewed in Internet Explorer and other programs that use the Common Feed List.
Hope this helps explain just a few of the new features that the new Blog system has to offer...

ok, no worries I have worked out how to un-delete a blog
I have undeleted slater170's Journal in the Blog... you can rename it and then delete the entires that you don't want...
