  • 2nd season, 1st Ace

A foursome at Dunwoodie in Yonkers, NY turned into the most exciting day of my life!!! The 7th hole from the middle tees: 154yds. sloping down at approx 50 degrees to a front pin placement. As I watched my friends each hit 9 irons slightly left of the green, but good distances in line with the cup, I knew I was at least one club less than they,. So I grab my 8 and take a practice swing. "That was the one..." I heard Mike say. "That's the swing!". Taking the club back I felt no tension or jitters....and just as smooth on the down. Sweet impact! The one where you can't feel the ball, as if there were no ball at all. I watched her soar up in a nice high arc, the shot seemed a bit right. "Get left "I cried, but Paul standing behind me said, " no no, that looks good!". It landed about a yard shy but dead on....and then it rolled...as slow as Municipal Government it rolled! And just as I felt excitied for my first birdie locking in, it disappeared!!! I lost it...absolutely positively lost it. Screaming my lungs dry across a quiet course, I celebrated with unbelievable exhiliration, tossing my hat and club shouting "A HOLE IN ONE, I GOT A HOLE IN ONE" Noticing golfers from other holes approaching, I apologized for my outburst, but they wouldn't have it! "Scream as loud and as long as you want" they exclaimed, shaking my hand and smiling as if I were a superstar! And for five wonderful minutes...I was! What a moment.

    Congrats on the Ace...

Having had my first and only about 6 weeks ago now, I know it is a feeling you want to bottle and take with you wherever you go.

    Cheers

Thanks Scragger, and congrats to you! I certainly wont ever forget it, and I'm sure you wont either! I've got the ball in a beautiful wooden case, sitting on crushed green velvet!!! My pride & joy
