just back from my club after shooting a personal best

on the drive from work to the course it started raining and i was tempted to head off to home but it slowed to drizzle so i carried onto the club, so glad i did now!

shot a gross 81 nett 59 off the yellows!

nothing more to add other than im buzzin my back out

    Slats,

When I went through a similar some time ago I took a few voluntary cuts, it's the honourable thing to do

Great round mate, but you really are a "12" or better now, not a "22" - I see a Clause 19 cut coming your way - but hopefully not until after your singles match. Win that and THEN do the honourable thing BEFORE the GTO Open - me I'll have regressed to a 36 and started the gender reassignment so that I can play off the reds before I challenge you

walking off the 18th on friday i would possibly have agreed with your suggestions.
12 hours later i walked off the 18th with a 96 on the card!

still think i should take a voluntary cut?

there is a massive difference between playing solo off the yellows and playing in a group off the medal tees.

i can do everything a low teens player can do, just cant do them all in the same round.

i was -1 after 4 holes then it all went breasts up on the 5th
hit a good drive then topped my approch shot, duffed 2 chips and 2 putted,
roughly the same happened on 6 and then the real card wrecker the 7th hit yet another solid drive but then sh*nked a 9 iron oob, reloaded and mishit that into wood next to green lost ball so had to go back and play another ended up with an 8!
in summary i carded 4 7's and 2 8's whereas friday night my worst was one 6!

was totally deflated after the seventh coupled with a bout of hayfever (hard to concentrate when your eyse are streaming and itching)

            theres always next week

Ian, I sympathise with the hay-fever although mine hasn't kicked in yet.

Your are correct, it only how we pay in the qualifiers that really count.

Nah, worked it out now Ian.

You need two handicap cards depending on which one of you turns up the "12" or the "22".

In fact that's the answer for all us who ahem lack a little consistency. I wonder if CONGU would wear it?

                      Re: PB@ellesmere

Congrats on the new PB Slats...

Your first sub 80 can't be all that far away now, surely.......

(I am serious and don't, call me Shirley... )

It has become ever more apparent to me that good scoring is a product not so much of our swing, in as much as it is a product of our confidence levels.

You have to believe the picture you hold in your mind's eye of you shooting the 70 something off the bat, then when you believe it, it WILL happen...

                      Confidence Pedro, confidence...

                      Cheers

                        Very nicely done sir.

It will get more consistent. You're clearly putting the work in.
