    Hi Nicole,

    Flat footed...........!!

    It's a term for hitting the ball with your weight evenly on both feet "flat footed".

    Taking a divot is simply confirming that you have transfered your weight correctly on the downswing, by moving your body forward you change the point at which the club bottoms out or the arc touches the ground, thus hitting the ball first then turf when the weight is forward at impact.

    With the weight moving forward you also change the angle of attack to a steeper one into the ball, again ball turf contact.
