    pelz designed set of clubs

    anyone tried the pelz designed set of clubs with ultimate small yardage gaps.
    (in other words changing a few lofts, losing a few clubs and gaining 3 or four wedges).
    I've got the wedges but im more interested in the loft changes as i have an old 3I (70's) that equals my newish 4I which shows the club makers are trying to add more length and wonder if the older guys know more about this?
    If this doesn't make sense just ask

    i remember reading that he (Dave Pelz) did this with Tom Kite and he readjusted his irons so he could drop his 4 iron (i think) and add a extra wedge but adjusted the rest so he still had the same spacing between clubs but where his clubs were spaced say 10 yards apart they were not 12 yards apart to make up for the lost 4 iron. i think there are a lot of pros that have the same sort off set up where they adjust the spacings between irons to allow them to have a bigger gap as the go to the longer clubs and it lets them add a extra wedge also lets them go down the grip an inch and lose 5 yards a club so have better distance control.
