    Re: matchplay tactics

no singles title for me this year http://modsquadgolf.com/forum/Smiley...ern/bigcry.gif http://modsquadgolf.com/forum/Smiley...rn/suicide.gif

lost my 1/4 final this morning, got beat on the last hole and thats after being 4 up after 4 http://modsquadgolf.com/forum/Smiley...headonwall.gif

4 hours sleep on a sultry summers night didnt help but to be fair the better player won, he birdied 5,6,7 and 8 to my bogey 5's to go all square

then it was nip and tuck down the back 9 which he shot 3 under!

i feel as though i played really well and i really enjoyed the round

anyhow there's always next year http://modsquadgolf.com/forum/Smiley...rn/thumbup.gif

Consider yourself unlucky Slats. It's not often you come across a bandit playing off 3. If he's had 7 birdies in the round it sounds like he should be off +1 or summink!

Unlucky Mucka, you did your bit by the sounds of it, he was just too good. No disgrace in that, that's why he's off 3.

I remember once being 2up with 4 to play............... and lost by 2 holes!!!
        Bottle job or what.

        Better luck next time mate.

          Re: matchplay tactics

Hey Slats, I'm with Neil, any golfer (regardless of handicap) who has 7 birdies in a round, is a pretty handy player...

Let alone having 7 birdies in 14 holes in a match play match where he is already 4 down through 4...

Sounds to me as though you did all you could and to lose a tight match on the 18th hole under those circumstances is no cause for shame what so ever....

As you quite rightly say, there's always next year....

          Cheers

Don't know if I am too late and I haven't read the last 2 pages.

Big fella play your own game and be patient. Always assume he is gonna make the odd ferret and long putt - lessens the blow.

Don't get ahead of yourself and never give up.
