  • Golf in Mallorca.

Are any of you in Mallorca this week and interested in a round of golf?

I hope to be playing at Son Quint, very likely wednesday morning.

    Anybody?

    Hi Mox,

sorry, going to Mallorca end of next week, Son Quint is the new golf course under the Arabella group management, I have played it twice, be aware of the rather narrow fairways, a lot of balls end up on the wrong fairway, have a great game and a lot of fun.

I ended up playing at Son Vida instead - the oldest course in Mallorca.

Weird, doglegged holes, and too many unnatural obstacles, like having a public road right behind a couple of greens.

My playing partner hit a parked car, not because he was ridiculously poor, but because he tried not to be short of the green, and ended up 4 meters long, which equalled bouncing it off the tarmac of the local road, and - sadly - dinging a car as a result.

Honestly, that's not fair to the players.

But apart from that, the course was in excellent condition. Despite 37C the fairways were soft and moist and the greens were fast but true.

I played like sh*te, and shot a gross 115 ... ridiculous ... but my girlfriends oldest son of 17 was driving the buggy and had the time of his life, especially as the bastard twice had me running af the buggy, ALMOST catching it for 50 yards.

No "juanito", there will be no tipping today!!! :-D

We had a good day, service was excellent, the course was difficult but fair (except for the roads behind the greens) and the price in july and august (apparently "off season") of 65€ including buggy was quite reasonable.

If that is the general standard of the Arabella courses (Son Vida, Son Muntaneer and Son Quint), I can highly recommend a visit.

Oh yes, and the girl in the service cart was an absolute dish! No sexisms intended, but she was stunningly beautiful and had a very gentle and spirited personality. We all fell in love with her! :-)

      Mallorca golf is worth it!
