Hi...
It seems that, subject to none of the members of my Club protesting TOO loudly, that come the next Club AGM, I will assume the position of Captain of my Club.
The incumbent has been in the position for the past 5 years or so and no longer feels he wishes to carry out the duties associated with the role.
Our Club's AGM is only 2 weeks away and several of the members have been asking me for the last 2-3 weeks if I would like to take up the role.
Well, I have just recently decided, I would.
My nomination has been made and barring any other nominees coming forward, thus forcing a vote at the AGM, the role is mine.
The realisation is still coming home to me, but, I am happy I have made the right choice, both for the Club and myself.
