What's the closest you've come? I figure we may as well have a feel-good for those of us that have yet to mark a '1' on the card.
For me, it's a pair of occasions;
The first time I was playing a 150 yard par 3, my ball pitched to 4 inches, hit the stick and spun away to 1 foot (yes, I made the birdie).
The second one was during a mens night, 160 yard par 3, we were discussing the best way to attack a front pin on this particular green, the other 3 in the foursome were arguing you needed to fly it and stun it, I said land it short and let it run up. So they fly it and only one guy finds the green - 15 feet past the pin. My little 'land it on the front' cut shot looks like it should end up right of the cup but when it lands, it takes a bounce and starts running at the cup! It ends up finishing 8 inches below the cup. There were 80 guys playing that night - I'm kind of glad it didn't go in!
