i have a white hot two ball oddyssey putter and i'm thinking of going with a scotty cameron blade. however this may be just a vanity buy. is there a big difference between a blade and a mallet? or just a personal preference

I bought a scotty cameron newport blade putter 2 weeks ago and it is excellent. I suppose you should really try one out before you purchase but they really are fantastic putters. -

Generally speaking, there's more forgiveness in a mallet vs a blade. For me, I don't putt well with a blade - the long alignment on a mallet really helps me start my putts on line.Comment

much like LP. i use a mallet style putter as i find it stays straighter when putting and doesn't allow the head to turn either on the backswing or forward swing.Comment
