    Taylormade 09 driver

    Hi guys, Has anyone tried the new 09 driver.I was wondering about the adjustable weights. If one can be custom fitted with the right club what would the advantages and disadvantages to the adjustable weight system.

    Hi Peter,

    The fitting would get you in the right combo of clubhead (loft, playability etc), shaft (flex, kickpoint, perhaps length, etc) and grip size to suit your swing.

    Once you've been fitted, the adjustable weights then will allow you to move the weights around so you can presumably hit higher or lower and also induce draws or fades (or alleviate hooks and slices).

    It's the same idea as adding lead tape at designated areas of the clubhead to do the same thing.

    As you know, it may not help a real bad swing.

      Hi Ted, So the moveable weights don't take the place of a custom fit but gives the player options afterwards.Interesting. Thanks mate.

        Right, Peter.

        Say you have a slice and you want to tame it down. By moving the weights, as you would lead tape, it may help.
