  • Club selections

I recently ordered a set of irons from Rock Bottom Golf. I will take this opportunity to give them a plug. There service was excellent with the clubs arriving in a small town in Australia,4 days after placing the order! Anyway the Wilson ci7 club order had no 3 iron and no sand wedge. This worked out fine for me as below the 4 iron it is more common for people to go to hybrids. The set did include a gap wedge, but no sand wedge. The gap wedge is commonly another club purchased to add to a golfers arsenal. So as I have a good sand wedge the deal suited me perfectly. I was curious about the sand wedge being left out of the package though so I started investigating u tube. I found quite a few times where the sand wedge was not the club always selected for the bunker. Also sand wedges can come in various degrees. So all in all the set suited me fine and I learned a little more about golf once again. What a great game!(today anyway!)

PS I love my new clubs.

    Hi Peter,

Many iron sets only go down to a PW. This is not bad as it is good to select a SW with the amount of bounce to suit you.

      hi Peter
the other thing with sand wedges is to get the bounce that suits the sand you play in most. soft fluffy sand is so diffrent to gritty couse sand.
the difrent bounce will need to match the sand you play and also if you will tend to play it off the fairway a lot.
often you can have a gap wedge with little bounce and sand wedge with a lot of bounce so cover both types of sand,
      cheers

I see your points and all in all I am very happy with my purchase. I had my first game with them today and I think that once I get them worked out the potential is there to save a few strokes. They are nicely balanced and have a large sweet spot. I think the ci7 wilsons are a much underrated club and are real value for money.
        Regards Peter.
