Hey GolfTuitionOnLine, thanks for the 'Happy Birthday'. I had completely forgotten about you folks for awhile now.
I'm sort of confused about the downswing. Some say it's a body swing-drop the right elbow down onto the hip and, keeping the club in front of your chest, hit with the body-hips, shoulders and arms.
Others, like Tom Watson, say things like "I hit the hell out of the ball using my right hand".
Or another conflicting example: "The downswing's like a closing door on a hinge"' VS "It's like throwing/skipping a rock across a pond" or "throwing a baseball".
In short-should you hit the ball using your right arm/hand or should the right arm/hand be passive? Which is it?
Make any sense?
