I thought it was a good movie as well. Shia Labeouf isn't too bad of an actor. Though I think they protray the PGA as a bit too stuck up/snooty.

It was a good movie. Laboeuf had a good golf swing.

      I also liked Bagger Vance.

Here's a list of golf movies. I don't know if any that should be listed are missing.

This was before a lot of members' time, but Banning was a good movie. It's filmed around the Riviera Course in LA, I believe, and it touched on the sometimes seedy inner politics and "games" within some ritzy country clubs. Fictional, of course. Robert Wagner, the actor, was a low single digit golfer.

Back then, and even into later years (decades) golf really was a "stuck up, and snooty" sport. Elitism by the wealthy, and for the wealthy was very much real when it came to the game golf, and a the general way of life in the United States. I think in a lot of ways, our present political system, still harbors that trait. GJS

            Hi GJS,

Is it not funny, that in the early years of golf, golf pros were considered by the same rich crowd as crude and ignorant bumpkins? I suppose many were ex caddies, and many certainly did not go to Harvard, or the like. They were not permitted to use the clubhouse facilities in many cases.

That guy in 'Bagger Vance' who played Bobby Jones had a beautiful golf swing.

                  Hi Brian,

That movie is on the list. I thought it was quite good too. It touches on the ethical and moral aspects of the game, which I like.
