  • Losing my head

This is the second time this has happened this year. First it was my four iron. I was teeing up on a par three and wham off comes the head. About a week ago same thing with my 5 iron. I bought these clubs in JUly of 2009 (TM Burner Plus). Is it my swing or has any body else had the same problems with this brand.
    Thanks

How are you treating your clubs? Do you keep them in your call all summer to heat up, then store them in your garage in the winter to freeze?

Do you completely submerge them in water to clean them?

Do you...throw...them on occasion? Slam them into the ground?

Otherwise, if you are good to them, then maybe these just are a bad set.

Sounds like suspect fitting to me since you have had them such a short time. I would suggest you get onto the supplier and tell them you are a headless golfer

        Sounds like bad epoxy.

Send the entire set in for a re-gluing (or do it yourself).

        Eventually they'll all come off.

None of the above, except I do dip them in water to clean them. But how would that make them snap off the way they do

Completely submerging a club (grip and all) in water, gets water inside the shaft that never dries and rusts. I was guess at a possible (rusted from the inside) issue.

Never the whole club just the club heads and just the part being cleaned

                Dan,

Look at the shaft tip where the hosel had covered - what does the epoxy look like? White or grey and powdery means a poor mechanical fit - epoxy does not work well in compression. Shiny and plastic-y means the ratio was poor - a bad mix job.

At any rate; I still say that if you've lost two, chances are the rest are just a matter of time. Get them all re-epoxied.
