Yesterday I was presented with the opportunity to play in a Pro-Am event at the Marysville Golf Club.
This golf club was decimated by the Black Saturday bushfires here in Victoria in Feb this year, with 5 members tragically losing their lives.
It is a testament to the club and the greater Marysville community that within just 10 months the course is now back to full playability and to a standard that attracted the local PGA to host such an event at the course.
I was fortunate enough to be drawn to play my round with Jarrod Lyle and found him to be not only a very good golfer (he would shoot 7 under 64 on the day) but a true character on course of very good humor and I thoroughly enjoyed my round, playing to my handicap in shooting 83. Though a little disappointed in that my 1 over the card 37 front 9 was backed up by an 11 over 46 around the back.
I can not recommend this course enough to any of you who may be looking for a new golfing challenge, the course is a little gem...
Cheers
