Today's round at my Club was a stableford round and I would easily win the day comp in shooting 78 off the stick for a 43 stableford point total.

A 2 over the card 38 (for 22 points) of the bat around the front with only the 1 birdie, was backed up with a 4 over 40 (21 more points) around the back.

And in another first, I birdied the first 2 holes of the back 9 and with these 2 birdies, I was still square with the card (and 30 points to the good) through 11 holes, very much defying my current handicap of 13.

The down side of course (minimal as it is) is that I played the last 7 holes 6 over the card. The reason I say minimal is that I took a triple bogey 7 on our hardest hole (the 15th) when after recovering well after a poor tee shot, to be centre of the fairway, 15 feet from the green for 2, only to then blade my 3rd across the green then take 2 more to actually get onto the dance floor and 2 putts for a very ugly 7.

My handicap has now come in to an all time low of 11.7 exact.

To say that I am a very happy boy tonight would be a considerably large understatement....
