  • Winter Greensomes !!

I have to play a winter greensomes doubles comp his weekend, Weather permitting. The problem I'am faced with, is this. There are 7 strokes to be awarded to the opposition, the strokes are 3/8 the combined difference.

Our course has only 15 holes which are in play and two of them are index 2 & 6. Iam looking for some feed back here. Do you think it fair we should play a additional three holes to mak up the 18 holes, my point is if we were the play say index 5 & 7 again and then one hole with no shot I feel, that would put me and my partner at a disadvantage?

Has anyone been in this situation who could offer advice.

    Thanks in advance

Don't think you'll need to worry too much...

With holes out of play, your course managers still need to present "18 holes" for play (in whatever configuration) and this new course should have its own ratings...

Don't think about that, just think about your match...

    Good Luck in your match...
    Cheers

Had sort of the same problem. My partner, and I had to give up 5, 3, and 4 strokes to the other teams we faced for three rounds. During the night after the first round, it rained enough to wipe out 4 holes. For the 2nd, and 3rd rounds, we had to double up on some holes, with temporary tee boxes which came with their own "temporary" ratings that most agreed on. Essentially they used parts of the 4 par 5s, and made up the 2 par 4s, and the 2 par 3s that had been lost during the rain storm. Hole handicaps made little difference, as the course conditions the wet weather provided was the equalizer. The better golfers prevailed. GJS
