Well howdy fellow GTO'ers...
Have been reasonably silent of late, but, found some time to update you all (in bullet point form) on my progress in the last month or 4...
Have changed my course management strategy.
Have developed a pre shot routine (which I am adhering to).
Have accepted the fact that I devote very little (if any) time to practice.
Have accepted that the game I have when I step onto the 1st tee each week is all I have to play with.
Have fitted an oversize grip (ala KJ Choi) to my putter and the putts per round has improved.
Have managed to break 80 on 5 separate occasions over the last 10 weeks.
These, coupled with the recent (partial) adoption of the USGA handicapping system here in Australia has seen me now playing off 10...
As a for instance, this past weekend, played 2 rounds, shooting a 7 over 79 at my home track in my club's day comp on saturday and a 9 over 74 in a pennant match play match on sunday. To add interest, both these rounds were played without driver and 3 wood. Longest club in my bag was a 3 iron.
Have also made myself a quiet promise that WHEN I do get down to singles, I'm going to invest in a new set of irons.
My golfing life is all good at the moment...
Thanks for reading.
Cheers
