Re: driver
Hi BillyB,
The first question is, have you lost yardage on your drives? Has anything changed in your swing? Maybe your friends are all getting better and you are staying the same? Don'y be too quick to blame the equipment. Not saying it can't be equipment problems, but usually it is user error. I out drive all my friends using a 5 wood compared to their driver and they are all stronger than I am. Strength is not the reason people hit the ball as far as they do, it is proper technique.
On the other side, drivers can lose their pop, some brands more often than others. If you have ever had one of the old Cobra drivers, you know exactly what I am talking about. But from driver to driver, there usually isn't more than 10 - 20 yards difference. Big differences in distance comes from proper technique.
If you are still in need of an answer, try each one of your friends' drivers, then you will know for sure if it is the driver or the operator.Last edited by gord962; 08-23-2004, 02:54 PM.

Re: driver
Hi Bill,
Gord is correct in what he says. Firstly find out if you have lost a little distance, you could do this by looking at what clubs you used to hit into holes compared to what you are using into those holes now. Also you may have had certain noticable features on holes that you drove level with, such as a bunker or a large tree. Are you still driving up level to these? Also, have you noticed any difference in distance in your iron shots? Once you have established if you have lost distance or if your friends have simply gained distance we can start looking at ways to get you back on track. It could be that a fault has crept into your swing, or it could be that your driver needs upgrading, or both. Either of these situations have solutions. You can post a video or photo shots of your swing here and I will have a look for you and give you might thoughts. It's also handy to have video of your swing stored here, then you will have something to refer to in the future. Anyway, get back to me with the questions that I have posed and try to post a video of your golf swing.
