Here's an excellent video, showing at 600 frames per second, how the golf ball REALLY reacts; backing up Trackman data that face angle is the major determiner of initial direction - not swing path.

Indeed, I didn't believe it for a very long time. But with enough evidence it just becomes overwhelmingly undeniable.

Most people ask me what difference it makes and I tell them "ALOT!"

It means when you are slicing the ball, trying to aim further left to hopefully "start the ball left" is only going to cause the ball to slice more.

One of the biggest revelations for my students to realize this is in the sand shot. I tell them to open their stance...way open...point 45% open if you want and swing directly down this path. The more open you stand will simply hit the ball higher and land softer. They always ask, "Won't this hit the ball too far to the left?" "No. Make sure the blade of the club is always aiming at the hole (or your intended landing target)".
