Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?
Monty does not play well at Augusta, so the Masters is out. If he cant play at Troon which is his local club and win, then there is not much hope at the Open if played on links coarse.
The only time he seams to play well in the US is during the Ryder cup. I feel the PGA and US Open are beyond him.
Lets be honest here, Monty is a good European Tour player, not a Faldo, Woods, Els, Watson etc. These guys pull out all the stops and more to win, even if their season has been indifferant.
Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?
I think he is past his prime. I think 15 years ago he was one of the players with a serious shot to win either open. If he was on his game he could play with anyone. Now, it would be a major upset, the course the scores everything would need to fall into place. I would put his odds at 250-1 to win any of the tournements and he only has a good 10 of those left.

HI Chad
personally i would love nothing more than to see Padgraig or Sergio win a major , but stark reality, both are having problems with putting and have done for a while....but you never know

I'm afraid not. Monty had his chances and blew them. He is still one of my all time favourite players. I'd love him to win a major, but i'd say it is very unlikely.
