  • Tapping the ball

Hi I was hoping someone out there could help me.

I have a problem with lifting my shoulder just as i make contect
with the ball. causing me to hit poor drives.

this only happens when I'm on the tee, any suggestions please.

    Hi geordie boy,

There can be several reasons that your shoulders are lifting as you are about to swing through impact and hit the ball.

One of these reasons can be that you are subconciously trying to help the ball get into the air.(bad balance) The weight is going towards your heels. To correct this stay level through the shot, maintain your secondary spine angle, through impact.

Another reason can be that your angle of attack into the ball is so steep that your shoulders are reacting to this by decreasing their length. your arms should be fully extended at impact and in the early follow through.

I would also check your ball position it could be too far forward. At this point your shoulders are climbing too high instead of being fairly level.

    STAY LEVEL THROUGH THE SHOT

Let me know if this helps
