  • Awkward shot

Played at Rother Valley Sheffield today and my partner hit his tee shot which nestled against some bushes, I suggested that he turn his club upside down with the toe of the club facing down and play the shot left handed. He did not feel comfortable with this and instead played the shot left handed using the back of his club, but I was not sure if this was allowed. Can you help?

That was fine. The only illegal shot you can make is using the shaft's end as a pool cue (mostly tried when putting). The ball can be struck with either side or position of the club as long as it is the club face hitting the ball and your body is not strattling the ball, you have to stand on one side or the other.
