  • To Hot for Golf

I teed off this morning at 9:15 am. It was 35degrees to start with. I swear it was close to 40 in the sun. When I got to the third par 3 tee both my hands were so sweaty my right hand slipped off the club and I had a topped shank type shot about 60 metre along the ground and far right into the next fairway.

I was going to play 18 but I couldn't. this coarse is a very hilly coarse like a goat track. After the 9 holes I played My shirt was completly saturated in sweat.

Golf's a winter game . That's way too hot for me. Wait for "winter" or golf from a cart is about all I can suggest. A.

      Well, screw you both.

I've got no choices around here... (I agree, 40*C is pretty hot to play in, but if you have a short season, you PLAY THROUGH THE HEAT!).

      I can't wait for spring...

Ouch that's hot! I live in Egypt but haven't played through the summer yet when it gets even hotter than that.

Funny you mention losing grip on the club. I was caught in a freak rainstorm a few weeks back and as I wasn't prepared for it at all the grip on my driver got wet as I was waiting to tee off on the signature hole of the course. The hole is a Par 5 with the tee elevated to the height of the great pyramid at Giza; it's possible to see the pyramids from the tee box on a clear day.

Anyway, I hit the drive and lost the club completely. The club spiralled 60 yards down the hill and the drive soared long and straight to about 300 yards! I was wondering whether anyone ever tried wettening the grip to improve driving accuracy?

I think I lost the grip because I try to keep my hands loose. I didn't wipe then for some unknown reason. the only reason I didn't loose the club was once my right hand slipped my left hand tighten the grip.

hehehe, I was lucky I wasn't out for out of bounds. the good news was I hit the next shot onto the green the bad news was I 2putted, so it was a bogey.
